DAILY BREAD IN THE DESERT

Exodus 16:1-36

1. Look at verses 1-3. What did the Israelites complain about in the desert of Sin? Read verses 4-5. How was God going to solve their bread problem? (cf. 21) Why did God put them in test in the matter of food? (14:26, 6:7,8:22, 9:22, Deut 8:3)

2. Read verse 5. Why did God ask the Israelites to gather manna twice on the sixth day? (15:26, 20:8-11, Deut 5:12-15) Why did God put the Israelites into daily bread training? (Ge 1:27, Mt 6:11,33; Heb 12:6, Ex 19:5,6)

3. Look at verses 6-18. What did Moses point out about their grumbling against him and Aaron (6-8)? (cf. Jn 13:20; 15:19b) How did God confirm it (9-12a)? Yet, how did God respond (12b-18)?

4. Look at verses 19- 29. How did they respond to the instructions (19-20; 21-29)? Look at verses 31-36. How did Israel people name the bread (31)? Why did God command them to keep it for the generations to come (32-36)? How long did they eat manna (35)?
