1. Describe Jesus’ busy life. Read verse 22. Why might Jesus have suggested that they go across the lake? What does this suggest about Jesus’ life and ministry?
 

2. Read verse 23. What unexpected thing happened while they were sailing? What was the realistic situation? How could Jesus continue sleeping?

3. Read verse 24. What did the disciples do and say? What does this reveal about them?  How did Jesus handle the storm? What does this reveal about him?

4. Read verse 25a. What did he say to his disciples? How did he see the problem? In what sense is fear the opposite of faith? Why is it essential that Christians overcome fear?

5. Read verse 25b. What was the response of the disciples?  What did they realize about Jesus? What kind of faith does he want his disciples to have? How does God use the storms of life to train us?
