  1. Read 2:1-5. How did Mordecai and his people respond to the king’s edict? Read v. 6-8. How did Mordecai explain Haman’s conspiracy to Hathak and ask him to inform to Esther?

  2. Read v.9-11. What was Esther’s reply to Mordecai’s request? Read v.12-17. What was Mordecai’s message about the destiny of his people? How did he remind Esther of God’s grace upon her life? (14) What was Esther’s determination? (16)

  3. Read 3:1-8. How did Esther put her decision into action, and how did the king respond to her? What can you learn here about God who works in the hearts of his people? What was Esther’s request to the king?

  4. Read v.9-14. What were Haman’s source of joy, and of rage? How did he brag about himself? How did his wife and friends advised him to deal with Mordecai? How does pride go before destruction? (Pr 16:18)
